Updates for the 2024-25 School Year

Thank you for investing in music! I’m so excited to see each student’s continuing growth and progress as we enter the 2024-25 school year!

I’ve had some requests to simplify the pricing structure, beginning this coming school year. Rather than charging per individual lesson, we are now moving to a consistent “by the month” enrollment fee (similar to extra-curricular activities or a subscription). My hope is that this system will make things easier on everybody’s busy schedules, and also help to increase students’ commitment to progress!

Music Lesson Enrollment, Fall 2024

*Nuts and bolts: I counted out the number of lessons scheduled to take place during the school year, and then I subtracted holidays and a built-in “sick day” for each student, and averaged the total. Some students may notice a slight price increase, depending on when they began lessons.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Will you be offering make-up lessons or credits, if my student needs to miss? Make-up lessons and/or credits will be available for teacher cancellations only, because the new pricing structure is designed as a “monthly activity fee,” rather than “by the lesson.” (One student absence per term and holidays are built into the pricing structure.)

Virtual lessons are always a great option, if your student isn’t feeling well on lesson day! In addition, I’m reserving two weeks out of the year as “make-up weeks,” for anybody who would like to take advantage of those. (Make-up weeks will be the week of December 30th, and the week of June 1st.)

If the teacher needs to cancel a lesson, what does that look like?

A credit of $25 (towards the next month) will be given for each lesson the teacher has to cancel.

When is payment due?

The monthly fee is due on the first of each month, for the coming month. The new pricing structure will be in effect starting in September.

When are the “built-in holidays” for the term?

Nov. 27 — Nov. 30

Dec. 23 — Dec. 28

Dec. 30 — Jan. 4 (No regular lessons, optional Make-Up Lesson Week)

April 18 — April 21

June 1 — June 7 (No regular lessons, optional Make-Up Lesson Week)

Will there be performance opportunities this year?

The virtual recitals were a big hit this past spring, and we’ve had requests to do those again! (I’m also planning an in-person event this year, I’ll keep you posted with more info.)

Thank you again for all that you do to encourage music in our lives and communities!
